>> good morning. top stories we are following on this friday july 5th. the bart strike is over. for now. union and bart officials came to an agreement, of sorts, late last night. we'll explain in a second, but the good news is. the soon. >> and firework shows around the bay area were a success last night here in the bay area. but there were some scary moments for a show we'll show you the scene and tell you what happened. >> it's been a hot week here in the bay area, but it looks as though the heat wave is finally behind us.

>> plenty of us are in the '50s and we do have pretty breezy conditions. thanks to the dippedeeper marine layer. yu can expect it to be seasonally cooler for tomorrow. we may see 10 to 20 degrees and drop in weather. i will have a full look at the weather and a few minutes. >> we are looking at very light traffic around the bay area but, there is a grass fire that has been reported east of alta mount pass way on the south side of interstate 580. we will be watching this. take a look at the bay bridge and the ride through the macarthur mayes. even now as we are approaching just after 6:00

a.m. on a typical day, even without bart, we will see a backups started to form. but because it is the day after the holiday this is what we are expecting for the rest of the commute around the bay. light traffic even now for the commute on an estate 580 and highway 4. we did have some slowing but is much lighter than usual. >> while bart wont be up and running for the morning commute, the thousands of people who have been forced to find alternate ways to get around the bay will be relieved to hear the good news that bart will be restored for the evening commute. kron 4's mike pelton is live at ac transit in oakland where passengers >> this is like 8 commute

happy hour. they stated that they need about 12 to 18 hours to get employees back on the job. i will step away so you can see just a handful of computers that are finding alternate forms of transportation. bart is not yet running until this afternoon. we got are not seen the long lines that we saw earlier this week thanks to the holiday. many of these commuters stated that they are thrilled to hear that it has always so perry ed bart and the labor unions agreed to extend their current contract by 30 days while they keep negotiating. officials stated that they still remain far apart on issues including pay, health care, and safety. that will continue to associate and the commuter stated that they're glad to hear that it

new this morning, a fireworks are believed to be the cause of a large vegetation fire in pittsburg. it happened around 9:30 p.m. last night near 701 will pass. it took about two hours for fire crews to get the fire under control. >> that was the fireworks show from treasure island. it was a spectacular sight in san francisco last night.

containment of a fire on mount tam this morning. the fire was reported last night around 9-30. marin county fire department responded with eight engines, a bulldozer, three water tenders and three hand crews responded to the area of indian road and the hoo koo e koo trail. no structures were damaged and no injuries were reported. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. firefighters battled a blaze kentfield marin county fire officials. thursday, the marin county fire department received multiple calls reporting smoke and flames on mt. tamalpais. eight engines, a bulldozer, three hand officials said. was about 50 percent officials. by early this morning, fire

6:15 a.m.. the temperatures are off to a much cooler start. oakland right now is sitting at 59 degrees and 54 degrees for downtown san francisco. he is also pretty windy outside. the winds have picked up in oakland with the 70 mi. per hour. 144 redwood city. it really just depends on where you are located. it to the afternoon you will notice a cool down a the temperatures will be 10 to 20 to greased cooler. you may see low 90's and britain would but the rest of the bay area will be in the '80s if not lower. >> for the east bay shoreline the temperatures are in the '70s and castro valley will have a high of 74 degrees. as we turn the

line welcome back. the time is 6:30 a.m.. here is a quick look at the opening bell. on the left-hand side we have the new york stock exchange and a rise i would have nasdaq. all three indexes are positive. watching wall street this morning. futures trading shows all three indexes in the positive this morning. investors will be closely watching the government's monthly jobs report today in hopes of figuring out what the federal reserve will do next. stocks were closed higher on wednesday. we'll be watching the stock markets all morning long here on the kron four

killed in a house fire. one person is in critical condition at the burn center in san francisco. the call came in about 2:40 a.m.. here is under control, they had it under control within 15 minutes. this is in richmond on the 600 block. >> police are searching for a person who impersonated a uc berkeley police escort. it happened in the area of university and shattuck last night. once in her apartment, man asked to use the restroom, then asked the students to perform sexual acts on him. the group refused and the man left without incident. >> we are human beings, we trust people, that is what
